Kees de Ruiter (Master of Arts, MA) studied History of Art at the University of Amsterdam (UvA), he has been in the business for over 25 years and has become an authority on Chinese & Japanese Ceramics, Dutch East Indian V.O.C. furniture and silver, antique Indonesian textiles and pre-war Balinese wood carvings.

Furthermore Kees de Ruiter is the curator of The Veronica Warnars Collection of Indo-European Batik, collected by Mrs. Veronica de Ruiter-Warnars (Batavia 1938 – 1997 Maastricht). This Dutch collection specialises in batik made in Indo-European (Indische or Eurasian) workshops during the colonial period circa 1850-1950. Many are signed by famous batik entrepreneurs like Mrs. Eliza van Zuylen-Niessen, Mrs. Adelheid Jans-Veenstra, Mrs. Lien Metzelaar-de Stoop or Miss A. Wollweber, all from Pekalongan.
Bringing experience, integrity and scholarship to these chosen fields of art, his aim is also to promote the idea of collecting, with all the long-term interest that it may hold for present and future generations.
